  • SAFETY FIRST! Elevated decks offer more design opportunities for versatile pressure-treated Southern Pine. A wide variety of handrails, turned spindles, post caps, and finials are available to dress up any outdoor living area.

Before starting construction of any deck or porch project, be sure to verify local building code requirements regarding proper handrail height and spindle spacing.

An American Classic: The Chippendale design, made of 2x2 material, topped with a 2x4 handrail. Double-sawn kerfs accent the top of the 6x6 posts.
Simply Modern: Narrowly spaced 2x2 spindles add a contemporary look between 6x6 posts. Spindles are trimmed to a 45-degree angle top and bottom.
Add Color: Let the railings do the job! Flanked by 2x2 spindles, arrow-shaped slices of 1x6 and 1x4 material are painted contrasting colors, adding sparkle to the deck design.
Horizontal Railing: Alternating railings of 2x2 with 1x4 (tightly spaced) create a screening effect. Ready-made caps and screw-in finials top the 4x4 posts.
