Due to its popularity, Southern Pine siding is readily available in most markets east of the Rockies. Three classifications of Southern Pine siding are widely available:
- Drop Siding
- Bevel Siding
- Log Cabin Siding
Southern Pine siding is relatively easy to install. It is important to follow proper construction practices during installation. These construction practices assume that the lumber and other wood products have been properly stored on-site; for example, the wood has been protected from moisture, dirt, and abrasion. It is essential that the wood be kept dry before and during construction.
