Tony Sheffield will join The Westervelt Company as chief financial officer in the third quarter of this year. He joins the company after more than 30 years in the wood products industry.
“Tony is a seasoned executive, and his experience as a leader at multiple levels in our industry makes him a great fit for our team,” said Brian Luoma, president and CEO. “He is highly respected and has a strong track record of implementing innovative strategies and increasing efficiencies. We are happy to welcome him to Westervelt.”
As CFO, Sheffield will lead the financial services and the information services groups and will help guide strategic decisions throughout the company. He replaces former CFO Mark Tobin, who left Westervelt, an associate member of the Southern Forest Products Association, earlier this year.
Westervelt announced in April that Luoma will retire at the end of 2023 and will be succeeded by Cade Warner, who became chief operating officer effective January 1, 2023, and recently appointed to the board of directors. The company also announced a few changes to its leadership team effective January 1, 2023, including a new chief operating officer and a new vice president and general manager-wood products.
