American Softwoods was represented in-person at the Taipei Building Show in mid-December 2020. Taiwan has been successful in containing the COVID-19 virus, allowing business operations and trade shows to continue. Although U.S.-based representatives were unable to attend due to international travel restrictions, local contractors were hired to staff the booth and survey visitors.
The show was slower than usual due to the pandemic, but the booth still received 94 visitors (46 of whom completed a survey). Taiwan is a smaller market, but presents a promising opportunity for development with its increasing demand for green architecture, earthquake-resistant buildings, and natural aesthetics, as well as its steadily growing tourism market. AMSO’s presence at the 2020 Building Show was appreciated by booth visitors and AMSO will continue to develop its efforts in the area.
