Carbotech Becomes Exclusive Distributor of Finnos Products

Finnos

Carbotech Group has entered into a collaboration agreement with Finnish company Finnos, which makes Carbotech the exclusive distributor of Finnos products.

The SFPA associate member will work with Finnos through its Autolog business unit on projects involving X-ray systems and wood grading at hardwood and softwood sawmills and planing mills.

“We are delighted to be able to collaborate with Finnos on business development and optimization projects involving internal and external scanning systems for different species of wood,” said Éric Michaud, vice president of sales and marketing at Carbotech Group. “With this partnership, the two companies will be able to combine their respective expertise in the field of wood analysis to achieve superior performances.”

Finnos was founded in 2016 and took on a pioneering role in the sector right from the start. It is a trailblazer in AI-based scanning technology, offering X-ray solutions for sorting logs and transverse scanners for grading sawn timber.

The company has grown from seven to more than 130 professionals and has 120 X-ray systems installed in 13 different countries. The company has recently put two of these systems into operation in North America.

Carbotech Group began with the acquisition of Autolog in 2021. Autolog specializes in optimizing and automating sawmill and planing mill processes. Since then, Carbotech Group has also acquired Sawquip, which specializes in sawmill equipment.
