Carbotech Group has expanded its U.S. operations by purchasing a 14,000-square-foot facility in Roebuck, South Carolina, in addition to naming a new general manager.
The new facility, which is expected to come online in January 2024, will improve the manufacturing of Carbotech equipment and allow for the storage of spare parts for Carbotech and Autolog equipment. It also will house a team of mechanical and automation technicians and a training center to develop expertise in Carbotech and Autolog equipment.
Carbotech, an associate member of the Southern Forest Products Association, also announced Jon Comber will take over as general manager of U.S. operations.
Jon’s extensive knowledge of Carbotech and Autolog products, as well as his impressive professional background in the sawmilling industry (including experience as a plant manager), make him the ideal person for the role, said Eric Michaud, vice president of sales and marketing at Carbotech Group.
Carbotech Group was born when Carbotech acquired Autolog in 2021. The two companies boast more than 70 years of experience in sawmill solutions for the wood industry.
