Membership Renewal Underway
The commitment of our membership determines the success of the Southern Forest Products Association, so we thank you for your loyalty, leadership, and support to continue growing our association and reaching new heights with the Southern Pine lumber community.
SFPA’s effort to communicate the benefits and sustainability of Southern Pine products, with your assistance, is just one example of what happens when multiple groups work together to succeed. This is why we always say, We’re Stronger Together.
We firmly believe with your continued support, participation, and feedback, we can make a lasting difference in the Southern Pine lumber industry. Your input is invaluable, and we encourage you to share your thoughts as we work together to build momentum and move ahead, especially as we launch various member engagement opportunities as well as the Forest Products EXPO. Many have asked, yes, EXPO 2025 will remain in Nashville.
The key, billing, and marketing contacts you identified at your organization should have received an email with a letter from me, your 2024 membership dues invoice, and the 2023 SFPA annual report, which we are calling our Value Report (read more below). If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Otherwise, we cant ‘wait to work with our members in the coming year!

If you recall, we’ve been hard at work on a new website to combine our multiple existing websites into one to create a more unified and user-friendly experience for all and to further reinforce SFPA as the resource for all things Southern Pine lumber.
Well, I’m happy to report we are in the final rounds of editing and on track for a launch in the coming weeks. Its ‘an understatement to say I can’t wait to share this upgrade with you!
Southern Pine Promotion Update
While I recapped where SFPA has promoted the benefits and best use of Southern Pine on the international scene last month, the past few weeks have been busy on the home front.
I’ve had the opportunity to attend:
- the Society of American Foresters? national convention
- the Forest Products Society?s Processing Technologies for the Forest & Biobased Products Industries (PFT PBI) conference
- the U.S. Agricultural Export Development Council (USADEC)?s annual workshop; and
- the Softwood Lumber Board?s winter board meeting.
Each event has provided great insight into what?s trending in the forest products industry while also providing amazing opportunities to keep Southern Pine ? and SFPA ? in front of key industry leaders and decisionmakers.
Message of Thanks and Appreciation
November is quite a busy month for thanks, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge two holidays that are near and dear to my and the SFPA team’s heart.
First, we salute all our veterans, especially those who are part of the Southern Pine lumber community, for serving our country and protecting our freedoms.
That appreciation extends into Thanksgiving, and do we have a lot to be grateful for at SFPA. I am reminded of the incredible journey we are all on to promote and elevate Southern Pine lumber, and our success is not merely the result of individual efforts, but rather the collective dedication and hard work of an exceptional team, from our Board to our members to our staff. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each team member for your unwavering commitment, passion, and resilience.
I am grateful for the trust and confidence you place in our vision and leadership. Your creativity, innovation, and determination have propelled SFPA and the industry forward, and I am truly thankful for the remarkable contributions each of you makes.
On behalf of the SFPA Board of Directors and staff, I extend our heartfelt appreciation to all our members for your contributions and your dedication to an even stronger future. SFPA is confident the Southern Pine lumber industry will reach new levels of success in 2024.
