Katie Kopf joined the Southern Forest Products Association as administrative assistant and program coordinator May 13, 2024.
Kopf will serve as the front line for incoming communications, whether that’s from members, potential new members, vendors, or global buyers of Southern Pine lumber – really anyone looking for Southern Pine resources. She’ll also coordinate with members to compile and distribute monthly Southern Pine lumber production data; assist in coordinating domestic and international meetings and events, including registrations, supply shipping, and hotel accommodations for SFPA member travelers; and play a key role in working with SFPA management on accounting functions.
She’ll work side by side to learn from and take over from Linda Patch, a longtime and devoted member of the SFPA team, who is retiring October 31 after more than 20 years with the association (we’ll have more on Linda’s retirement in the coming months.)
“Coming from a large healthcare company in Nashville, I am excited to join a smaller more intimate team and learn about the Southern Pine industry,” Kopf said. “Growing up on the bay in Fairhope, Alabama, I understand how important the use and protection of natural resources are. I look forward to jumping right in to advocate for the use of Southern Pine in the U.S.”
Kopf lived in Nashville for the past five years, so she is new to New Orleans and loving every second of it so far.
“I am also excited to be closer to Fairhope where my family and many friends live,” she said, ” and I can’t wait to grow my career here at SFPA and experience all of the unique Louisiana culture that New Orleans brings.”
Having earned her bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Alabama, Kopf previously served as the executive administrative assistant for the president of enterprise business services with Lifepoint Health in Nashville. She previously served as executive administrative assistant for the executive vice president of human resources, facilities/administrative assistant, and executive assistant to the temporary CEO, all at Lifepoint.
